Three weeks ago my son was sightseeing in London celebrebting his graduation from college. He road on two of the subway trains that were bombed. This is a small world and hit close to home. My prayers and thoughts go to the people of the U.K. God bless.

i have many friends, both past and present, who have visited, lived in, or live in London now. it is a great city, and the british are great people. the british have survived so much and done so much for the world. someday, for those of us lucky enough to still be alive, this will be nothing more than a bad memory. for those whose lives were changed permanently today, my prayers are with you. my friends in britain will rise above this, and we will all stand united.

Best wishes to you all, and best of luck. Contrary to popular politically correct dogma, putting our heads in the sand and wishing for peace will not stop those who would destroy us. Do not be so foolish as to think you can reason with people who would crash airliners into skyscrapers full of thousands of innocent people, or bomb subways and trains and daycare facilities. Sixty five years ago when the bombs were falling on London there were many who were eager to sue for peace at any price. Fortunately, persons of substance prevailed. Freedom is never free. Stand up against those who would take it from you. When it is firmly in hand, that is the time to work for peace.

Unfortunately Zube, we have a government here that is mired in PC right up to its neck. We have a weak Prime Minister and little will be done. Do you know that it is now against the law here to voice any opinion about ANY religion. Not only is that a serious restriction of human rights but it serves to drive the crackpots underground, and that is dangerous because that's where terrorism is fermented. And it stifles debate, which is the only sensible way to arrive at an accomodation for all religions. I never thought it would happen here - an Al Qaeda attack I mean - because this country has been a convenient bolt hole for Muslim terrorists for years. Let's hope this government has the guts to stamp it out. Frankly I doubt it. Zoot 'You got to be original, man...' Lester Young 1904-1959 |

God Bless all of you in the UK. Of all the people in the world the extremist could not have picked a worse target for achieving their goals. A people that endured the bombings of the IRA, and the wrath of Adolph Hitler without bending to some convoluted outside demands.
Zoot: I understand your concern and frustration, you ought to see what some of the politicians are saying over here. But as to whether your government has the resolve to do something about it ?? To some degree it depends on you, and people like you, that insist that something be done. My hopes and prayers are with you and for you. |

You have to admire the old "stiff upper lip" that the Londoners display once again. The courage you all have shown is fantastic.
I heard an interview with a Londoner on the radio this morning, and he said, "We're a plucky lot, here." And that you are. God bless you. pootsie |

It is apalling, the total disregard of these terrorists for human life.
It also makes me think of what a living hell must be life in Baghdad, where attacks similar to the one in London happen almost every day. And the masterminds of these attacks keep getting away with murder and keep gaining support. God bless you all, our friends from the UK. |
