Vic,

I am very sorry to hear of your loss.My wife and I both lost our grandmothers this past summer and the passing leaves a hole in one's life.I wish I had some words of wisdom, but the best I can do is offer my condolences and empathy. The tree is a very fitting and lovely memorial.

My condolences to you.

Several years ago, I did a demo on a small crape myrtle and presented a mini bonsai show at the nursing home where my mother resided at the time. It was well received and provided an enjoyable afternoon for many residents. After she passed away in 2001, it took on additional significance, and stimulates memories of that afternoon each spring when it comes out of dormancy.

Thank you all again. I am so heartened by all the examples of others who have used bonsai or other plantings to remind them of their lost loved ones. The multi-generational examples are especially pleasing. I hope that I will have this grandmother tree to give to the children I hope to have one day.

You are all the best. I cannot say how much you have been a comfort to me.

Yours in bonsai and friendship,

Vic, so sorry about your loss.

I have a Gingko that is in memory of my neice. Its an average to below average of a bonsai, but when I see it I think of my neice, Vicky, who was only in her 30's when she died of breast cancer. I refer to it as my Vicky tree.

Peace my sister
Bob

Red Leaf In Sympathy

Sorry to hear of your loss. I am planning a tree for the birth of a new grandchild but a tree as a memorial is a wonderful idea.
