As unlikely as it might seem, I think there is, or was, a MARS BONSAI NURSERY, or something very similar, some years ago. I remember the ads in the back of Bonsai Today. Their slogan was "The Best Bonsai are from Mars!" This was at least ten years ago and I can't find anything on Google for it.

Anyone else remember MARS??

Regards,

Matt

I just found the ad in Bonsai Today 19, which was the first one I grabbed. I think it was published regularly though. The name was actually "Marrs Tree Farm"

Marrs Tree Farm
Uncommon trees- try some of the tree species you've seen used by the masters
*We specialize in starter trees (3 to 7 year old seedlings) of uncommon species
*Ginkgo, larch, baldcypress, pines, spruces, maples, hornbeams, elms, beech and more!
*Send one dollar (refundable with order) for mail-order catalog
*Strictly Mail Order

Dept. BT**
9802 62 Ave Ct E
Puyallup, WA 98373

Uncommon trees on Earth come from Marrs!

Regards,

Matt

**Looks like Marrs Tree Farm is still in business. I didn't check to see if that address from the old ad is still correct, though so don't go mailing off for catalogs without checking up.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I have only had dogs but have lost two so far, and will eventually lose my Buddy, who has epilepsy. I found the best way to help get past it is to get another little friend who needs rescuing. They are so deserving and provide totally unconditional love. I'll hoist a toast to Mars at the next opportunity.

An idea for a company slogan:

Come and enjoy trees of Mars. It will be a heavenly experience!

I'm sure your experience with Mars was just that.

As an animal lover and activist, I sympathise with you. I will never forget the day i came home and found my Rottie dead in our garage. Animals give us unconditional love. Take care.

Peace
Bob

A 14-Year-Old Convalesent Cat in the Winter

I want him to have another living summer,
to lie in the sun and enjoy the docceur de vivre-
because the sun, like golden rum in a rummer,
is what makes an idle cat un tout petit peu ivre-

I want him to lie streched out, contented,
reveling in the heat, his fur all dry and warm,
an Old Age Pensioner, retired, resented
by no one, and happinesses in a beelike swarm

to settle on him-postponed for another season
that last fated hateful journey to the vet
from wich there is no return (and age the reason)
which must soon come-as I cannot forget.

Gavin Ewart.
