Bart Thomas passes

I received an email from Chase Rosade telling me that Bart Thomas passed on Friday due to a long illness. You might have noticed Barts absence for a few months now. According to Chase , Barts computer was on a different floor of his condo and he couldn't get to it during his long fight. Earlier on in his absence from BT he had computer problems and I believe they were solved about the time his health became worse. That is why I believe we hadn't heard from him in some time.
I'll miss Bart. He was a very nice guy who I saw at at least two symposiums every year. He was a great suporter of BT and IBC and also of me. Bart and I had some fun times with "Mr. Scoopy"
Regards,
Dale

Dale,

I am very sorry to hear Bart has passed on. He was, indeed, a very nice guy. I only knew him through the discussion boards, but he always had something informative, or constructive to say. I'll miss him alot.

This is very sad news. He was a great asset to the forum, and to bonsai.

Our sympathy to his family and friends.

Truly sad news...We will miss you Mr. Bart...Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us on this forum...Your 'Mr. Scoopy' on the 'skateboard' will always be remembered, as will your personal experience, preparation, and thought processes, on the 'new talent pine styling contest'...

Rest in peace my friend, and my condolences to those you left behind...

Sad Regards
Behr

I didn't see Bart very often but found him to indeed be a kind and thoughtful person. The last time I saw him was last May at the WBFF convention when he was in the new artists competition. He will truly be missed.

The few times I met Bart, he was always a very friendly and personable person. He took the "opportunity" to style a ponderosa pine in the New Talent Contest with good humor and was a real good sport about it. Will miss his banter and good will. John

Very sad, I was always impressed with his trees being as he was fairly new to bonsai he really made use of the time and teachers he had. I had noticed his absence for the past few months. I had the habit for awhile of sending this very kind and good humored member PM's with questions and was always interested in the info he would share with us here at the forum. He would share his experiences from workshops, the info about flexing branches prior to wire shaping, sharing pictures and info regarding the WBC event in D.C. and so on.
