Winners of the 2006 Articles Contest!!

Congratulations to the winners of the 2006 Articles Contest!

First Prize: A Hobbit Trayscape, by Treebeard. This delightful and beautifully illustrated article was well received by the members. Treebeard wins the $100 gift certificate from Stone Lantern, and the Joshua Roth 9148 Giant Professional Root Cutter, 275mm, donated by Treebay.

Second Prize: Pine Care Basics, by Hans van Meer. An excellent and informative article on pines. Hans wins $50 toward any bonsai related item, donated by Joanie, and $20 donated in his name to the forum, donated by Pootsie.

Third Prize: Keeping Bonsai Trees Healthy to Avoid Root Rot, by Aldevaux. An indepth and technical article on the crucial health of roots. Aldevaux wins $30 toward any bonsai related item, donated by Joanie.

All of the articles can be found here. (You may have to refresh your browser if you have visited the index lately, to see them in order) You can now see the authors of each of the articles. Several of the articles are being sent to Wayne at Bonsai Today for consideration of possible publication.

The winner of the "I Voted" prize, Fkokkas, has already been sent the pot donated by Cindy Read. He looks forward to receiving it, as bonsai related items are pretty scarce in Greece!

Congratulations to the winners! And a big thank you to all of the authors, the organizers, and those who thoughtfully commented and voted. I assume we may now begin publicly discussing the articles in the forum?

Yes, that would be all right now. I think that it might be best to start a thread in the General forum for the article you want to discuss?

Chris' article definitely deserves first place. This is a highly imaginative composition based on mythology, however recent (although it is certainly based on very old mythology) that is home-grown.

And the winner is...

It goes without saying that the real winners are the members of BonsaiTalk that profit from these articles!
