SO TRUE! I can only imagine

Belonging to two clubs, I would add this, though....just because someone in a club has status, doesn't mean they have knowledge. Listen to them and be willing to double check what they say. Their own experiences may be modified by factors you cannot know. Sometimes they use a very poor soil, for example, but their trees do all right because of the constant care. You may need a better, faster draining soil because your trees only get watered once a day. Things like that.

Certainly for hands on pruning or that sort of thing it is worth while to learn in person, face to face, with an actual tree. And learning about specific species in your area is very useful. But take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt, whether you learn it in a club, or on the internet, or in a book. Balance everything against the other information out there, and your own common sense. The more you read and learn, the better informed you will be. Sometimes people in clubs get stuck in their own ways and don't learn of the innovations or the better ideas that others have tried and are willing to share on the internet.

After 25 years, I joined 2 clubs, and Joanie is in both of them . I am amazed of what I have learned in the last year. If you can try to join one.

Peace
Bob
