Columbus Bonsai Society Holiday Dinner
December 6th - Tuesday, at 6:30 - 7:00gathering time, our holiday dinner and program will be at the Imperial Garden on Hayden Run just west of the
Bethel/Hayden Run Split. We have experience that this is a very good restaurant and has an excellent selection of traditional choices as well as a Chinese menu for the adventurous. The Club has arraigned for a Buffet style offering of food so everyone should be able to find something to enjoy. Imperial Garden will have the buffet ready for us at 7pm on the 6th. They have put a ton of things on the buffet, everything we wanted and a bit more (plus one soup), for one price: Including tax and required tip it comes to $11 per person. They expect 30-40 people and they can scale to accommodate more as needed. We should practically have the whole place to ourselves as Tuesday is usually a light night for them. Ross is adapting a program he has done for The Nature Conservancy on invasive species for us. Sounds like a good night out. There will be a silent auction and a chance for a white elephant exchange or blind auction. From Sawmill turn west on Bethel, bear right at the split and turn right into the plaza. Imperial Garden is about ½ way back in the shops along the side. pootsie |

Oh, sorry, the pix turned out bad -- no light.
But we had a good time! Ross Leibold (sp?) gave a presentation on invasive speicies that cuase environmental problems in Ohio, and then we stuffed our gullets with delicious food. There was a silent auction but I had to slip out for another meeting, so I don't know if I aquired anything or not! pootsie |

Well I managed to miss out on this year just like I did last year.
But at least this year I have a 6 month old baby as my excuse, last year I just plum forgot. I tried to convince my wife to come along and bring the little guy but she wasn't interested. Anyway perhaps next year. Glad you all had fun... What were the main invasives that Ross talked about? I'm sure he mentioned the Ailanthus altissima (Tree-of-Heaven) talk about invasive! YUCK! |
