Hi, Wendy!

I think someone took pix, but I didn't.

The workshop was very nice, with a few new faces in the crowd. The trees were very good quality for the price. I managed to restrain myself and NOT bring home another tree (although I snagged some nerifolia cuttings).

There was a brief presentation my Mark about the ficus genus and a few examples, including Merida's really really nice nerifolia. I brought in my frankensai to share, and gave away a couple trees that are not the quality I'm aiming for. Then everyone dug in, clearing soil and trimming and wiring into pots and having a good time. More experienced members wandered around to help those with a bit less. I spent most of the time working with one guy, John, I think, and his tree turned out to be a very good start I think.

Next meeting = Picnic at the Park of Roses!
Noon, 9/25.
Bring trees to share, giveaways, food, beverages, and your sense of excitement.

Pootsie,
You RESTRAINED yourself from $15 ficus

Was Merida's the Nerifolia from my workshop there two years ago with large ones and medium ones? ( see picture)

Dale:

Well, it's always hard to resist acquiring another tree. I have a problem and I'm seeking help

Besides, I'm saving up for good material like you told me to!

I did unload, er, donate to newer members some less than prime material to clear the space, too.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but I think that is the tree merida got. It had about a 3" diameter trunk.

Thanks, Hec.

Our show in 2006 will be at the Franklin Park Conservatory (as always) over Father's Day weekend. We are inviting all clubs throughout Ohio to participate.

I'll keep you informed.
