Disqualified - agraham's contest entry

Ficus salicifolia

5' tall

15 gallon container

cost....It's one of mine in my nursery which is closing down.I'm selling them for $50.....no bonsai work has been done to it...it is a 3 year old airlayer.

....and I hope it will be accepted as a legitimate entry, though i will understand if it is not.

Andy,

Nice piece of stock.

I do have to ask you to select another entry. The spirit of the contest is for people to go out and find good stock for under 50.00 to enter, thereby making part of the challenge stock selection. I have some great stock that I purchased three years ago for less than 50 dollars that have not been worked yet, using these would be unfair. Please see the rules as posted and as quoted below.

1. Material Selection

a. Obtain the best stock you can for US $50.00 or under from any nursery, box store, or the like. Beware of bonsai nurseries, as most these trees have been worked. Any entry that is determined to have been previously worked will be disqualified.

b. NO COLLECTED MATERIAL - we want this to be mainly a styling contest!

c. No past material will be accepted so don’t go digging out those old pictures. Go out and select new stock.

d: Staked Trees will be allowed only if the tree is tied to a stake for support (to hold it up) but not wrapped around the stake as a styling method. Staked entries, due to their nature will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

e. Stock Styling work must be your own, workshop trees will be disqualified. Sorry, no tanukis, groups, forests or virtuals are allowed.

f. One Entry per person.

When you do find some stock to enter please remember that the rules state that three pictures must be posted, front, back, and side. Please feel free to post another entry.

Good luck,

Will
