Now that was a nice piece of demo stock!!
From Andy??
I hope you got compensated well for letting that go!
I'd have bought a pile of raffle tickets for that !

RE: the workshop pics. I wonder how much thought some gave to the stock they would bring to a workshop with someone of this experience?
It seems often that all clubs are pretty much the same.

I know the hubby had a time trying to figure out what to take...
He decided to take the large Kingsville boxwood...
Both He and Pedro seemed happy with what they did to it.

Thanks for sharing the pics Irene. Really nice demo material. Like Dale I to would have bought a boat load of tickets on that one. Do you have the finished pic on the Juni (52076) Pedro styled? I know there is more to it than what was shown. The Boxwood also came purtty nice.....your hubby should be quite pleased.

Good for you Irene. That worked out very nice and seems very appropriate for a workshop. It was a few of the others pictured with "no place to go" that I was questioning.
I remember MANY workshops I've done, or been too, that I couldn't believe the trees people brought. One was with John Naka...my oh my!
I once did a workshop and when I sat down with a Lady and her tree she said " I don't want to cut anything off it or repot it or rewire it"!
What could I say

D.

Thanks for the pictures, Irene. As I'm still fairly new to bonsai, this workshop was a great experience. I hope that next time I'll have more of an idea what I want to do with my tree when I get there. This time, since Pedro is the expert, I let him guide the process. He seemed to think that it would make a fine shojin raft. I think that I need to get smaller fingers before I try to wire anything like that raft-to-be again, lol.

It looks like you guys had a great time with Pedro. We are getting him tonight and tomorrow evening. I'm bringing two trees to this evening's workshop, including one I purchased in Puerto Rico.
