Walter Pall visit in Israel.
Walter arrived on Friday 16 December 2005 at17:00, and by his request was driven (by me) directly to the IBC (Israeli Bonsai Club) meeting place in Kfar Mordechi. After a short break he began his demonstration.
His main message at this demonstration was "Do not make a tree that want to be bonsai – make bonsai that want to be a tree", he also discussed the natural look, sub trunks and the "informal broom". After the demonstration we had a wine and cheese dinner with the club members. We all hardly wait for the all day "tree Inspiration" workshop tomorrow (Saturday).

Hi Carmi,
Would it be possible for you to go into a little bit of Walters thoughts or plans for this tree?Maybe like begining height and the finish height and what he intends to start and how it should be handled for the future? Just fishing for info,Thanks.

When Walter talks about minimalism and finding the smallest possible tree he's not kidding. My dog has poopies bigger than the stump he left on that tree

Sorry soonami, the Royal Scatological Society says you only get one poopie analogy per month.

Hi,
Joanie, the tree is Pistacia lentiscus, I am very tired and tomorrow is another whole day of workshop and demonstrations. I promise I will upload soon detailed answers and a lot more photos.

On Saturday morning we had one more demonstration by Walter and then the "Tree Inspiration". Every tree was discussed first by the owner than by all the members and finally by Walter
After the lunch break we all worked on our tree be the guidelines and help of Walter. Our exciting day ended with Walter and some members at an Israeli restaurant.
