Big Smile Up coming workshop with Hirotoshi Saito

I am lucky enough to have been selected to attend workshops this coming weekend with Hirotoshi Saito from Japan. I have chosen two trees to take. One is a Pinus Radiata that needs some refinement, the other one is a Larix kaempferi (Japanese Larch) that has been field grown for several years and has not had any training other than some basic shaping.
I have organised to borrow a digital camera and will post before and after shots of the trees next week. Until then - Only 5 sleeps to go!!

Isn't life wonderful

Hi Stephen. Do you have any other pics of the Radiata Pines? I have two myself and am not really sure what to do with them i.e. Styling. Are you styling yours like a black pine? One thing I have noticed though is the different way they shot from the needles. It seems you can trim the whole branch and new shoots come from just about every needle! Any thoughts?
