Marco in the Midwest

Hi,
Marco Invernizzi is making a month plus long swing through the midwest, actually from Mexco to Mid-Atlantic. I just want to put in a plug for OKbonsai (aka Frank Kroeker) who's Nursery (Sonlight Nursery) is hosting Marco April 1st and 2d. Frank has taken the opportunity to use this (April 1st- no joke) as his Third Annual Bonsai Workshop Day, with Marco doing a demo in the morning and then working with students on Ponderosa Pines or a bring your own tree setting. Or, you can just watch. See Frank's website at www.sonlightnursery.com for the skinny.

While this is a shameless plug for Frank, it is also a great opportunity to see one of the truly bright and talented young bonsai professionals work and teach (Marco not Frank, Frank is a little older.....).

Marco will be in NW Arkansas with us working on trees and hopefuly having a little southern hospitality the following week.

Way to get my hopes up!! I saw Midwest and thought that he might be coming here. If only I wanted to see some colleges in Arkansas, then I could take a college day from school and kill two birds with one stone, see college and learn some stuff.

Marco came to our club last year & I really enjoyed him. He "lectured" me on the value of bringing a better quality to for a master to work on. I told him the tree was one I thought had potential, but I was at a loss where to go and that's why I wanted a Master's input. Enjoy it!

John thanks for the plug. Just a note there is still room left in the workshops. I would say that I am a little older, why I am old enough to be his father. Oh man that hurts.

Those of us who grew up on the "left coast", aka the one that is in contact with the Pacific Ocean, kind of look at everything from Colorado to Indiana as being the "mid west"- guess that woukd make Ohio the Mid east......

Texas, the Dakotas, Idaho.... yeah, we get sort of blurry about it all. To us, the middle of the country starts at the far end of Arizona. But then, geography is a weak spot in our education.

Marco will be at my club, Pennsylvania Bonsai Society, in April right around the time of MABS. So all of those not in the general midwest vacinity (which depending on whose definition may very well include all of the US between the Appalachians and Rockies) should come to the club meeting and see his demo

Like we said before, this is a real opportunity to see a fine young bonsai artist work and teach. John
