Thumbs up

This event was amazing...a one word descriptor...transformation. I took rescued material from snowplow destruction and brought home a tree with amazing potential. Watching Hans' insight from the discovery of the tree within the material...well worth experiencing. However the true treat was to watch his abilities behind the carving tools. Seeing him bring rigid deadwood into a sinuous dance was absolutely incredible. An amazing man with an incredible talent....and the beer wasn't bad either

Well Day 2 of the Han's workshop has just ended. It was a long day the first person started to work at 6 AM Sunday and the last person dropped out at 2:00 AM on Monday.....20 hours of solid bonsai styling, idea sharing and fun, talk about a marathon. Hans is an unrelenting bonsai warrior and addressed each tree and person as if it was his first an amazing guy.

I have posted a couple of trees that were worked on today and once my eyes uncross will post some more. The sumo yew in the first picture after its initial styling, in my opinion as well has Han's, will be a world class contender in a few short years.

Not all found the workshop exciting but made good use of the time non the less.

Also we had a birth on premises during the workshop. A Robin had set up a nest in one of the pines on the benches. One of the three eggs in the nest hatched and we were privileged to observe this birth.

Man, We had a BLAST!
Got lots done, lots of great Bonsai Fellowship. Glad to see the end (ish) result of Rich's tree. He was whacking away on it pell mell when I had to finally drag myself home Sunday. LOTS of chips flew all weekend. Sometimes three grinders were going at once, wood flying everywhere...
My fingertips are sore from wireing/re-wireing. Visions of tree design were dancing through my head as I passed out last night.

I'll see what pix I got and post when I get home from work tonight.

Enjoy!
