Ginkgo Awards 2005

Hey all, anyone off to the Ginkgos in a couple of weeks time? I'll be there 17th-18th sept, saturday and sunday, saturday night as well. Any of you that have been before tell me what to expect and how much money to take? If you are going, im the guy with long blonde hair, pretty skinny, average height, nearly 18.

Cheers
Rowan

Hi Rowan,

I'm going for the weekend. Leaving very early Saturday and driving.

I'm staying at the Ibis, and have booked a ticket for the Saturday night evening dinner at Gingko.

Looking foward to it, Walters display should be very impressive looking at the images he is posting on IBC, also the demo's should be good....Kev is working on a superb piece of Yamidori pine.

I'm the dashingly good looking one with the comedy facial hair.

Enjoy it.
Arnie

This below pic is me, dont photo very well!! lol!!! i'll be there saturday night + all day saturday and sunday, dont know where im staying, like a travel lodge i think, could be the ibis, who knows

I saw kevins yamadori on the awards website, am going to try and make it to that demo if i can, how long do they last normally, because i'd like to see salvatore liporace + david benavente as well if possible. Am also going to be scouting for a job post-college when im there, so i'll be the one handing business cards out

Whats the sheffield thing? thats just about doable for me by public transport!

Cheers
Rowan

Hi Rowan

The Sheffield thing is the Bonsai Traders Association. They happen 3 times a year in the UK.

The first at Coventry in April, then Enfield in June and Sheefield Don valley Stadium in Oct. There are loads of traders there, all the main Bonsai Nurseries, and potters, except me hopefully next year, in the uk. The organisers have now started to put on a demo at each one, Kevin has done one and Graham Potter did the demo at Enfield.

It is worth you picking up Bonsai Europe, if you have not already got it, as it details all events in Europe throughout the year.

Regards

Andy

Rowan,

I did spot you rumaging through the bargain trees.....unfortunately this was Sunday Morning and I had a huge hangover and was feeling, well maybe a little queezy and unsociable!

Great show, truely inspiring....David Balavante's Juniper demo was for me one of the highlights. I felt a little ripped off at times, 50 cents to go for a pee?
