I think the pot might be fine in size but the shape is what bothers me, and maybe something a bit more rustic/organic. Great job ! I have a tiny oak that I collected from the woods here this past winter, I've removed the first set of leaves already this spring, and it has responded with a whole new set sprouting at the cuts most of them with two buds for each one I cut off.
Mine is far too small to look even decent when in leaf, but if I can get some nice ramification it'll look nice as a winter tree.
