And a few more of Goliath being tamed.
The folks who shared the day.
A Boxwood that Bonsaifreak got from Grampz and got repotted into a lovely pot.

And more.
I did express my concern to Jorge about the front he picked ....
He just maybe needs to be around me a bit more to truly understand the beautiful sides of the entire tree.

And so you folks will know what Mom looks like.....
The cost of the trip a tank of gas, some lunch....
The joy of working what we love with friends is something that I can't put a price on.
The topper for me was being able to meet 2 of my many online sons.....
I am one happy Mom!

Nice pics mom! Like I told you, I like both fronts on that boxwood. Now that I see the pics, I realize that pot only has one front though...

I was a witness to the battle and David won! It was a nice afternoon in the company of good friends and my bonsai enthusiast liitle boy. I finally got the privilege to meet our on-line mom and her hubby...

All

Here’s the scoop on the bald cypress. I purchased it from my local Home Depot in February 2005 for $25. It was growing in a 15 gallon nursery pot. I did a hard root prune and spread out the nebari, then planted into the pond with drain holes in the bottom. For the last 3 years it has received sun all day 24-7-365 and mega amounts of fertilizer.

Bald Cypress is one of the 1st trees that I started collecting back in the mid 70’s and is very rewarding.
Finding these trees at nurseries is getting easier and more plentiful.

If you wait until the last moment before the buds swell (late winter/early spring) to do root prune, you can remove 75% of the roots. Just make sure you leave plenty of hair/feeder roots. Also protect it from temperatures that get below 45 degrees after root pruning.

Thanks to Irene “mom” & Terry(Hubbie)for the pics

Thanks to all that came out and/or helped

Stay tuned …more to come!!!

Enjoy,

redhawkbonsai
