ABOUT THIS FORUM - Please Read before you post

Welcome to STUDENTS OF BONSAI!

The Students of Bonsai forum is dedicated to the discussion of bonsai education in a structured learning environment. Structured learning implies that there is a student / teacher relationship. You can discuss workshops you've taken or taught, or experiences of others who have.

Students of Bonsai is also home to the ASK THE MASTER and FORMAL DISPLAY forums.

Some appropriate topics for this area include the following:
  1. Discussion about classes, workshops, lectures and demonstrations
  2. Discussion about teachers, students and the learning process...
  3. Presentation and discussion of work produced in classes and workshops...
  4. Inquiries about materials suitable for workshops and classes...
  5. Presentation of assignments or refinements of past work.
This forum is not about self study or restyling you've performed on your own. Those are great topics but belong in the general or show & tell area, unless you are posting displays in the Formal Display section or Show Quality trees for the Ask the Master section.

This forum is not a good place to ask general questions about bonsai, soils and horticulture unrelated to structured learning. Please see the Beginner, Collector's Corner, Propagation or General forums.

Please enjoy this new area!

Regards,

Matt

Thumbs up

Excelent idea, Treebay!

This way, we can all take classes for free in a much easier way.

How is this going to work? If it does not start with a question, or a post about this, that, and something else, how does one start a class or request a class. That being said the question is begged; who is going to teach above class?

I am not trying to be fractious, but these questions are difficult to ask without sounding sarcastic. I think we need something or someone to start the thing off.

No offense taken. This is not specifically class.
This is a place to share experiences and work from teacher-student workshops, lectures and demonstrations.

There are already scores of posts in the Students of Bonsai area, most of them provide examples of appropriate subjects, content and discussion.

Regards,

Matt

Nice idea...and deftly sidesteps the politics of a recent, related thread!
