When to reap Pinus Thunbergii seeds?

Hi there

I´m wondering when I must collect the seeds (season) or if I can take the cones and wait until they open and get the seeds, here in Chile we are in mid-winter.

Regards
Jaquín Avaria.

seeds

Collect cones before they start to open (check with local nursery for time of year) in your area, once collected store in a dry area. To encourage cones to open place in brown paper bag (to heat up) most cones will open above 70 degrees.

Do what she said. Those JBP seeds can be sown as soon as you are ready to take care of them, they need not be stratified
