Some 2006 spring seeds result

I decided to take a few shots of our seeds plate of 2006.

Our best result this year, are Pinus parviflora, carpinus koreana, zelkova zerrata and Pinus thunbergiana short needles. Others who have also well perform are : celtis sinensis, pinus densiflora, Fagus crenata. All we tested this season have germinated with good result for seeds that were stratified in fridge 3 months prior to sowing at beginning of may. Test seeds sow in november of last fall were not conclusive except for a maple, japanese red pine and zelkova. Weather must have frozen the seeds too much. Anyhow, here they are:

Japanese white pine (Pinus parviflora) #1

Korean hornbeam, almost a 95% germination rate. (carpinus koreana)

Some japanese hackberry (celtis sinensis) and japanese black pine once
again.

A small group of zelkova

Another tray of Zelkova and Japanese black pine (Pinus thunbergiana short
needles)



Another plantation of Japanese grey bark elm (zelkova serrata)
