Opinion Sincere aplolgies for not knowing

I would like to offer you my sincere and humble apologies if my using the term "Jap. Red Maple in the title of a post in this forum.

I was not aware, until I was notified by PM from a polite user of this forum, that the term "Jap" was considered offensive. I certainly understand why, and I did not consider that at all.. I am from Canada and if I was talking about a "Canadian red maple", I would not be surprised if I said "Can. red maple"

But alas, I meant no harm, insult, or offense to anyone.

Again, My sincere and humble apologies.

And here's a textbook example of someone simply admitting a mistake, apologizing and moving on, how very refreshing!

I am impressed and humbled at the same time, thank you.

Welcome! And a nice way to start as well! And thanks to the unnamed person who sent that PM.

I LOVE Canada! What I know of it anyway. I've been on a couple of long canoe trips near Atikokan there just across the Minnesota border. I didn't want to leave.

Okay, Sky. Gotta know. I perceive you as a female person, no particular reason, I just would tend to name a girl Sky instead of a boy. (Go figure....) Anyway, there are so few of us feminine types here, it would be nice to know if our ranks have increased by one. Even one counts.

Or if you are a guy type.... oh well, welcome to the crowd.

With that being said, Here's a pic of me. I'll attach it to this msg. I think that's how I get the thumbnail in the msg like I see everyone else doing....

The name "sky" has odd meaning to me, and how I got it. I will say that It is short for Skylaur (sky-lor). If anyone has ever heard of the game everquest, I was an addict for a period, played the game way too much. My character in the game was also named Skylaur.

Here's a pic of me for those who were curious of my gender:

Sky.
