What is the website? Is it carterseeds.com? Is that a 90% germination rate? That sounds pretty good to me!
Ive got most the species i want for the spring from ebay, but now im looking for korean hornbeam in bulk, seedrack is on back order but they have the other variety still for sale. Might have to go with them.

OK... What a difference a day makes! I posted about negatively about several places that sell on e-bay. I swear every word I said was true. Well today I received 3 e-mails from Jewels in which she apologized for the misunderstanding. The in the afternoon mail I received a package from whatcom seeds (seedrack). They sent me a replacement package of the seed I ordered from them.

Today I made a wooden box to sow seeds in. I have ordered a 1000 or so and intend to let nature do the work this time. Oh well, back to work.

Korean hornbeam- Carpinus coreana. There is another korean hornbeam, Carpinus Turczaninovii, that looks the same but grows faster.

Do you guys recommend sowing seeds individually or do you think it is better to just spread the seed all over in one grow box and transplant them individually later?

I think spreading in a grow box and transplanting later is easier. Thats what i do. The wholesale site I was talking about is sheffields.com . They have everything you could ever want. Like I said, they list when it was collected, when the next fresh lot will be available, germination results per lot. NoOne else on the internet gives the info that they do that Ive found. Im going to start ordering from them. Prices are kind of high per small pack, but if you buy a larger quantity, its way cheaper than ebay.

I would be very interested in having any available seeds that you may have. I would gladly pay any shipping that is required . I have collected Drake Elm seeds , sago, windmill, and sabal palm seeds, spanish live oak seeds,This spring I will have swamp red maple, cryptomeria japonica, bald cypress and some others. I would like information on the seed source mentioned, jewelssnw. I would like to hear from anyone regarding seeds.

Seeds

Hi:
I stratified some seeds I collected from my new JP maples.

Not too many of the seeds sank after a 24 hour soak.

I went ahead and stratified them anyway.

Is it 100 percent true they have to sink in order to be viable?

Thanks

out of curiosity, I did a search for the eBay member mentioned in the first post of this thread.

Since this thread was started, that eBay member has received 26 negative feedbacks, for taking money, and not shipping seeds (or trees). And is no longer a registered user on eBay.
