Seeds Experiences (japanese Maple)

I know there are alot of people on this forum new to bonsai that are starting out with seeds. I have bought seeds from just about everywhere on the internet. It is hard to get fresh japanese maple seeds over the internet but I finally found them. Just to let you know, i am in no way affiliated with this ebay seller, but I had to let everyone know due to my recent discovery. I purchased 1000 japanese maple seeds for $25 from Jewelsnw about 2 weeks ago(thats a great price i might add) . Most people know that maple seeds need to be stratified for about 3 months before they will sprout. I started stratifying about 1 week ago in the fridge, my wife looked at me today with a BIG smile and told me check on them. I pulled out about 75 seeds that had already sprouted. Amazing. I emailed the seller and asked if they pre stratified their seeds, and they said no, they sprout earlier because thay are fresh and not dry seed. Just thought Id let everyone know so they dont waste their time on dry seed over the internet, i would highly recommend these people.

if anyone else has had a good experience(or bad) with seeds from another ebay seller or website, please post here. There are alot of us wasting money on bad seed. I think if we all tell our experiences with seed companies, maybe we can narrow it down and stop wasting our money and time on bad seed.

come fall if i get around to collecting japanese maple seeds again, i will offer them free as long as you pay shipping. Last year I had about 3 takers. I still have a bunch left(a ziplock baggie full), but I dont think anyone wants 9 month old seeds..

I'm with rglewis on touting jewelsnw, I bought 100 Japanese Black Pine seeds, soaked overnight, and planted immediately with no stratification, and they sprouted within 2 weeks.
I think I only paid 5 or 10 bucks.
