Question Root Hormone For Seed Germination?

Has anymone tried coating seeds with root hormone prior to sowing? If so, what were the results?

That is possible but i must admit i haven't tried it yet...This is theory: Rooting hormones promotes rooting, but at the same time in concentrates all the seeds energy in root growing and not foliage. So it might be a bad idea, cos you might end up with a long root and no foliage But i can't see why you would want to do this. Rooting hormone is not meant for germinating seeds.... thus it would be useless. But you can use it when the seeds are about 5 months old with no secondary effects

not sure if rooting hormone would help. This year when i started cold startifying my japanese maple seeds, I soaked seeds in superthrive instead of regular water, prior to placing in the refrigerator. Seeds started sprouting in the fridge after about a month. Never happened before superthrive. I would reccomend trying that.
