Question Pinus Mugo Mughus

Well, I am attempting to germinate seeds from Pinus mugo mughus (Mugo Pine) and I became exited when I saw tiny sprouting things.
The question I have is:
whether conifer cotyledons are coniferous or of a decidous sort?
I know that Mugo Pines are coniferous, but what would the cotyledons look like?
I am having doubts, because it is not producing a stem from the center of the shoot; it split into two seperate leaves and then stopped.

Thanks... Any input is good input,
Justin

Well, I'm not familiar with the species that you're describing.

However, last summer a bunch of chinese elm seeds fell into a pot that I had outside after discarding the houseplant that had died in it.

I watered them just for the hell of it, and a week or two later had about 50 little sprouts that looked much like you describe your seedling. Over the summer they grew but it took about a month for them to be recognizable as a tree sprout.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, wait and see. It's probably your tree

If anyone was wondering...

The cotyledons of a coniferous plant are also of the coniferous sorts.
