Olea europaea cuttings
I wish to know what is the optimum time in the olive's growth cycle for cuttings to be propagated. What about the thickness (I've read that even 3 inch diametre cuttings can be propagated!).
Thanks |

Re: Olea europaea cuttings
Doug Philips takes olive cuttings up to a foot across whenever he can get them, even July and August, which is approaching the hottest months of the year in our climate, so I would say, "it doesn't matter." *He has a greenhouse and keeps the cuttings warm and the humidity up, with a blast of mist going off periodically.
You can learn a lot more on his informative website. Click on the top link - Olive Head Central. http://www.dugzbonsai.com/
