Need Help With Starting Seed

I purchased some seed from ebay from several different people. Trident maple, dwarf pomegranite, Japanese Larch, and a collection of seed listed an conifer bonsai which include mostly different varieties of pines etc. All the seed were stratified exactly as the instructions listed. They have been sowed for about 2 months and as of today I have 2 pomegranites and i pine to sprout out of approximately 600 seeds.

Is there something I am missing or just bad seed? This is really frustrating. Any help is appreciated.

Id probably chalk that one up to bad seeds. Ive always wondered how buying seeds from the internet could work. Fresh seeds are the best.
When did you get the seeds? How exactly did you stratisfy them?

Thanks Kevin. The seeds were soaked in warm water for 24 hours then placed on a wet paper towel inside a plastic bag in the fridge for 6 weeks.

I fully agree with the fresh seed theory, however no local seed for the varieties normally associated with bonsai are available.
Does anyone have a seed source that is reliable?

I don't think 90 or even 120 days would be that unusual. I'll have to check my text though.

Regards,

Matt

I buy seed from www.seedrack.com . They have a bonsai section.

I never had any badluck with their seeds. I bought around 15 varieties. All have sprout except my chinese elm and cotoneaster. All other have worked. Im talking zelkova, pine, birch, maple, hot peppers, hornbeam.
