kvnharv29 bonsaiTALK Master Join Date: Aug-2003 Location: Overland Park, KS Country: USA USDA Zone: 5 AHS Heat Zone: 7 Posts: 304	Japanese Maple I got a Acer growing in my front yard and i want to take seeds from it and grow them. Whats the best time to take the seeds and what are some good techniques for growing them? Do i need to worry about stratifying? Any thoughts on the matter would be helpful.

A good rule of thumb I go by is, -the seeds are ready when the seeds fly off (not fall off) when you shake the tree- or you can compare the color of your seeds with my seeds.
