japanese black pine Yatsubusa seeds

I wonder if it's possible to have seeds from a Yatsubusa japanese black pine.

Would the seeds result in a japanese black pine having same characteristics of the Yatsubusa japanese black pine.

Thanks
Patrick

Possibly--- could have the characteristics of either parent. Only a clone would be sure.

On the bright side it could have some extra good new traits. Keep on sowing...

thanks for the response.

I have found one website saying that the modified genetic will be transmitted in the seeds. But would like further opinions.

Article can be see here : http://www.killerplants.com/weird-plants/20021031.asp

Actually,

Im not quite sure they are yatsubuisa, but they are actually japanese black pine, and they do produce smaller needles then regular seeds. Im pretty happy with them.

Regards,
Patrick

Thumbs up Yatsubusa

Hi Patrick i wish you good fortune if you end up with yatsubusa pines.
I have one around 43cm tall informal upright and it is a great pine to hang around with. Grows dense foliage and the needle size is small. Good results in a short time.
Kind Regards Ash
