I bought trident maple, japanese larch, dwarf pomegranite, chinese elm, and an assortment of mixed conifers. They were purchased from several different vendors on ebay.

Timless, buying off ebay may seem like a good way to get different seeds but it isnt. Not only are they expensive but invariably you will have problems germinating them. It is better to find a good online dealer and buy from them. Unfortunately with your seed it is likely that it was old and infertile, pomegranate seeds are the easiest to germinate i believe, even without stratification, this time i think you have just been unlucky its worth trying again, just by from a more reputed dealer or trade with someone you know is sending good seed. Currently i have 6 packets of seeds stratifying in my fridge, these will be sown in the spring, some i have collected and some i have bought, but i would expect roughly a 50% chance of germination for maples, same for pines and other evergreens, and almost 100% for pomegranate, just find some good online instructions about stratifying for your area and follow them carefully, you should be able to grow a good range of seeds. Just be aware that some seeds such as maples may take upwards of 2 years to germinate, you just have to be patient with them.
for anyone in the uk looking at buying tree seed i highly recommend this site Nicky's Nursery
have recently bought seeds from them and was very impressed by the service and the fantastic range they offer.

They looked like a little weed about an inch tall with tiny purple flowers. I e-mailed them but they have not responded.

I also bought from several others on e-bay and out of about a thousand seed I have 3 plants (1 pine and 2 dwarf pomegranites). ANy info, you share will be greatly appreciated.

No. Only standard strat in the fridge. This year im doing exterior ( natural) strat.

I live in Phoenix, member Phoenix bonsai Society.

This year I have sprouted over 300 trees
from seed. Mostly Arizona natives obtained
from Seeds of The Sothwest.

Some are deciduous and have survived
our temps this summer.

If you have stratified your seeds, now
is a good time to sow as we approach
our second spring

Rich
