Seedling Humidity tent needed?

I am in Houston Texas. Humidity is currently 90%. Regarding schefflera cuttings, do I bother with the tent thing?

Reading your message I was more concerned about the season and the nighttime temperatures in Houston. I checked the bonsaiTALK weather and it says it's something like 40 degrees at night?.... Unless you're indoors, where the humidity is definitely not 90% no matter what the hygrometer says, unless the wallpaper is peeling and the walls are sweating in the morning.

I checked out the Fukubonsai site because I remember reading some stuff about Scheffleras there. At the bottom he is recommending a minimum temp of 65F for rooting.

Here's the link

I guess what I am saying is, it may take 6-8 weeks so if that pushes you into winter, don't get discouraged, and maybe try again in the spring or summer, when the temps will be fine but the humidity tent might be a welcome addition.

Regards,

Matt

Well, right now it's about 72 degrees. It has been in the 80's during the day and mid 70's for the past two weeks. The forescast does say a front is coming in though. Thanks for bringing up the main challenge.. I just trimmed a schefflera I bought from a nursery a couple days ago, so I figured I'd try to take some cuttings. If they don't root it's not so much of a loss. It will be an experiment, yeah, that's it. So if I have to bring them inside will misting help? I dont know if the Mrs. would like the idea of a propagation tent in the house f you know what I mean. Thanks for the reply!
