Re: HELP!!>??
Bonsai trees don't come from spores. Sure, that was in an episode of the smurfs but you just can't trust those cartoons any more
It could be he had a fern plant in a small pot, they do produce spores but you really couldn't call it a bonsai.Bonsai are made from regular trees and shrubs like maple, elm, juniper, etc. through a method of growing and pruning known as bonsai. If you don't have a bonsai nursery locally try searching the net for online nurseries, there are many out there. Of course he could always create his own bonsai out of nursery stock or collected material if he wants to invest the time. Either way a good place to start would be some books on bonsai so he can see what is involved in growing them and keeping them alive. Tony Tony |

Bonsai Babe,
With that user name how could we not come to your rescue! I'm so sorry about your boyfriend's itty bitty baby bonsai. There are real bad guys out there, aren't there? I bet he would really like another one for Christmas. Don't worry about spores and all that science stuff. I bet you could find him a nice one at the mall. Look for a little cart in the middle by the food court.
