Heated Propagation Beds

I would greatly appreciate feedback on inexpensive ways to create heated propogation beds, with a view to low running costs also (ie. low voltage, hot water from an electric urn etc.).
Buckets of thanks in advance,

Are you talking about beds in the ground? The most common way to do that is with poly tunnels.

If you are talking about heated trays, that can be done with heating mats or cables.

It's probably important to discuss scale and whether you are talking benchtop or field.

Regards,

Matt

P.S. There are some interesting products at ***CHARLEY*** if you search under "propagation" or "heat" Be sure to click the keyword box.

Thanks for the help Matt. At this stage I'm looking at an above ground system to trial some large diameter hardwood cuttings of Trident Maple, Chinese Elm, Zelkova and other vigourous species. Something with a 100 cutting capacity would be ideal for what I'm attempting.

Warm Regards

I think you'd have no problem putting 100 cuttings in a single nursery flat. The more the merrier. All that leaf surface keeps the humidity up.

Regards,

Matt
