Experience of Dawn Redwood propagation

Two months ago I purchased metasequoia (http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthread.php?t=12499). As I do not need some branches for further styling I decided to try airlayering and cutting propagation.
You can see on photos the appeared roots.
The airlayering was done on the 1 of July, so it took 1,5 month for roots to appear. The airlayering was made by method of tightly wiring the trunk. The soil mix is consist of seramis, coir fibrosoil and perlite. Also I use rooting hormone. The tree is placed on loggia, average day temperatures changes about 22-29 C.

And here it is possible to see roots on cutting. The length of the cutting about 12 cm, the same soil. It was made also 1,5 month ago, then was situated in a small greenhouse and increased humidity was supported. It is interesting that the roots appeared not only in the soil but above it also, I suppose due to humidity.
Maybe it can be usefull for smbd, because when I began propagation I couldn't find detailed information about metasequoia except the words that it can be done easily. It's the truth!
