Well the only thing I can do is wait the spring.
For all the members are trying to root acer palmatum cuttings you should try putting them in a glass of water and little rooting hormone and a drop of soap. It worked really well for me.

I've had much trouble with deshojo cuttings as well, they are a tough species and require complete pamering for about 3 years until they can get on their feet so to speak.

I've learned that if you swear out loud at all of your palmatum cuttings that have rotted, your wife will get tired of it and order you seedlings
