1. What are the tree's strengths?
The main tree and rock look great together. The pot in excellent for this design. 2. What are its weaknesses? The second tree has an ugly curve in the lower half of the trunk. The reason it is ugly is because it move in the opposite direction of the whole planting. Also a big problem is the use of all the ground covers and long grass. The long grass looks out of place and out of scale with the trees. The long grass almost dwarfs the trees and shows them as being immature trees rather than mature aged old trees. Also the trees seems to be planted towards the back of the pot which dwarfs the trees even further and, in my view, takes the focus off the trees and onto the ground coverings. 3. How could the tree be improved? The long grass ground covering need to be removed and the second trunk straightened and repositioned. The spacing between the three trunks needs to be changed and made less evenly spaced. Here is a virtual of what I had in mind. |
