I think the club raffle is a good choice unless the owner wants to grow it out for a few more years. And if that is the case styling or removing anything now would be pointless for either choice.
Another way to go and this is honestly what I personally do with this tree is the use of Tanuki. With the right live/dead wood design you would get this one into a show class tree as soon as 2-3 years time.I know many people are dead set against Tanuki but with artist like at the IBC and some here sharing pictures out there we can easily see just how great they work.

[QUOTE=sauce]Oh really? Just curious as to what exactly leads you to that observation. [/QUOTE[
I think the tree is insipid. The trunk is to weak to hold those heavy loaded branches, the young and plain bark is boring.I want to see it from the ground up,where is the nebria keeping such a tall tree from blowing over?It has a nice silloette, the pot and picture is good.It is the bones that need to be delt with, then the feathers. I thought this is what TOD was for, members to express our thoughts regarding the material presented.I guess I am just tired of bad trees, after 8 years I should be right?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this little tree has certainly run the gamut
![]() You have to say this for it, though, it has triggered a lot of response and a lot more virtuals than more developed trees have in the past. It is still in the phase where it has more potential and flexibility of design, giving many of us the chance to play with it and discuss it. Let's hope that someday we see what was finally done with it! May it live long and grow well! Joanie |

I agree Joanie.
I think for some reason Sauce has gotten the idea that my comments were given in a 'my way is the only way' mindset. This is not the case at all,I don't do this and dislike when those here do it so often. There are many ways to make a good tree.

We novices can learn from the ideas presented by the more experienced. The range of ideas presented gives the impression that there is more than one way to approach each tree - which means we don't limit ourselves to imitation mallsai when we start to style . The more opinions the better ![]()

Will, that was what i had in mind, i am lucky to be able to get my ideas to paper, because i cannot get the 'virtuals' down at all. crabs><> |
