Seems to be starting out slowly, hopefully to end up with a bang.

There are some nice prizes so far with a couple more to come, the thing is that we need enough excitement and entries to make this contest a go.

Any suggestions? Or are we all just sandbagging?

I am not sure if everyone recalls the past contest, but it started out slowly as well. Of course, at the end there were plenty of entries. Give it some time, you will find most people like to procrastinate.

Me.... I'm just patiently waiting for ANY nursery to open! I assume that should happen as soon as they aren't covered in snow any longer...

Gee, folks.

Wasn't planning on entering when I bought a $6 weeping Barbados cherry just because I thought it would be good in a cascade pot I had. So, I didn't take any before photos.

Well, it's still probably too modest for the contest, but I'm very happy with it. (Got to use a whole bunch of 1mm wire.) Besides, it needs time to develop.

Sometimes it's just better to let things flow and not worry about competition. At least in my case.

Good luck to you all. I am looking forward to the results (and to the How did you do that discussions.)

I am definetly in! I bought what looked like a nice juniper last weekend, but on closer inspection it's a reject for instant result and will have to go in to the ground for a few years yet.

Back to searching the nurseries.

Checked with several local nuseries.... expected openings range from April 23 through May 14.... just after the closing date......enjoy and let the best artist win!

Well I just spent 400$+ on a digital camera, rationalizing that it'll make it easy for me to take part in these things. Now I just have to wait until the end of April for the nurseries to open and start looking for stock for the 2006 styling contest...

Not much stock available here in zone 6 Oklahoma. My local greenhouse sez there won't be any major shipments for a couple of weeks.
