My tree is was styled some time ago. But if i look at it now, i fear it won't live. You know Junipers, it takes weeks bevore you're sure. I'm still waiting what it does, but i'll have to take the photos soon because i don't have a dgital camera. I don't want to be dishonest, so how do i tell if i can enter my final pic or should better back out of the contest due to a dead tree? In any case, i'll post photos and a report about what went wrong IMHO after the contest.

Vance,

Matt has worked ourt a very nice system for voting. You see thumbnails of all the trees and you have a button that will tell you which ones you haven't voted on yet...it's hard to explain, but it is simple, easy, and very organized, you'll love it.

Does that mean we vote on every tree or just the one we prefer? If we vote on every tree does this mean we rate every tree on a 1 to 10 bassis like we do with the gallery postings?

Q: Are Clump Style trees valid entries?

Q: Are Clump Style trees valid entries in the bonsaiTALK styling contest?

The above following question was received by PM concerning the acceptability of the Clump style as an entry in the bonsaiTALK contest.

ANSWER: Clumps are fine. Clumps and rafts are single trees and are not group plantings as both styles incorporate a single root system. Forest style bonsai are a different story. Separate root systems.

The applicable rule, 1(e), actually states, "StockStyling work must be your own, workshop trees will be disqualified. Sorry, no tanukis, groups, forests or virtuals are allowed."

Regards,

Matt
