Spring 3 point

It's a Spring-like day in the San Francisco Bay Area, with temps in some locations around 70 degrees.

Very nice, good choices of tree, scroll etc.

Hey Mike,
Nice display. I would like to see a less obtrusive scroll if possible. Maybe something long and thin to match the juniper.

Hi Charles
In display, I think there needs to be what I call "complimentary contrast". If the scroll was long and thin like the tree, there would be too much "verticality", which may be boring.
In this spring display, I think the elements are complimentary. The scroll says its spring, and the flower and tree are looking at each other. This is important. If the flower was pointed the other way, it would be all wrong.
What this display says is: Tree and flower converse about Spring, and Old Man Winter sits on the left and tries to ignore his impending demise.
That's the story I'm telling today, as the warm California sun beams down.

Regards

Mike

Hey Mike,
You are correct. However, I feel that this scroll visually outweighs the tree. I assume that you intend to have the tree as the focal point of the display. If so, maybe a small scroll would suit the display better. I will see if I can make a virtual of it.

Here is a rather rough virtual, but I feel this makes the scroll less obtrusive.

here i deleted the shadow for us. I think this really makes the pic look cleaner. Plus it gave me time to practice my very basic photoshop skills (just learning)
