New display table
I bought two 72"x36" woven reed mats from a store in our local Japantown to use for display at a recent bonsai exhibit. The 72" dimension is good for a standard table, but the 36" dimension is 6 inches wider than a standard table.
I decided to build my own table to fit the reed mats. The display area measures 72"x 34". The 2 uprights in the back hold a backdrop. The legs are standard folding legs like most banquet type tables have. The first image is a display on the new table. Second image is an overall view of the table and the legs. The third image is a scroll I made. The picture was scanned from a book of old Chinese paintings. Then it was worked over in Photoshop and sized to fit the standard scroll card. It was printed on light weight photo quality paper and mounted on the blank scroll card. I displayed it at a recent meeting of bonsai friends at my house. No one caught on that it was a fake until I confessed. I've done several this way. The scanner and high quality printer do a great job. Mike
