Exclamation bonsaiQUOTES: Read Me First!

What are bonsaiQUOTES?

bonsaiQUOTES could be insightful, witty, silly or telling. Ideally they should be brief (25-30 words max), and should be directly related to bonsai/suiseki. Quotes that are simply witty or funny don't qualify. -MORE-

Threads in this forum make up the content for the Bonsai Quotes feature on the bonsaiTALK homepage.

1. You may comment or rate any posted quote

2. If you see a quote or comment that you don't think is appropriate, please follow the quote and Report the post or comment. Using the Report feature

3. You may nominate your own quotes if you follow these rules:

EACH NEW THREAD TOPIC MUST BEGIN WITH A BONSAI QUOTE.
Only quotes in the first post!!
In that first post, put NO suggestions, NO feedback, NO yuk-yuks or TSK TSKs, I agrees, LMAO, nada - you can put those in a follow up post. Nothing else please; no comments, contextual info, smileys or explanations. If the quote doesn't hold up on its own, it's not a good quote

CONTENT:
Pearls of wisdom.. Philosophy is fine. Funny is OK, too. I like the bit about the wire ends. Quotes to avoid for this purpose, would be anything that casts the speaker in a poor or questionable light. I think it is okay if the quote is self-deprecating (like the frustration of searching for the end of a roll of wire) but the quote is not useful here if the process of quoting deprecates the speaker.

HOW TO POST A QUOTE

CLICK HERE TO START A NEW QUOTE THREAD
  1. Start a new thread in the quotes forum. The first post in that thread must the actual quote, and only the quote. no hello's signatures or commentary about why it's a great quote.
  2. The subject of the thread is used for categorization. Try to use one of these for your subject:
  • Bonsai Humor
  • Why I Bonsai
  • Teachings of Naka
  • Famous Artists
  • Bonsai Defined
  • Forum Humor
  • Did He Mean Bonsai?
  • Forum Philosophy
  • Bonsai Philosophy
  • Bonsai Secrets
  • Overheard
Making the quote

"Put the quote in bold. Italicize and bold it."
--Two dashes, then the author

(If you know it, add the date and the reference - it could be an offsite link, book )

Many thanks,

Matt
