Bonsai Philosophy

"When the artist first sees the tree, it communicates something to him,...there is some meaning that the artist sees, that others can not yet see,...it is the task of the artist to bring that image into as clear focus as possible to help the tree communicate this message to the masses."

Bun,

First year art theories aside...

I will say that for myself... I create in my bonsai visions that satisfy me. If anyone else happens to stroll by and gets something out of them, I am pleased enough. But I only create things that are true to myself. Art is to subjective to try and create it to communicate to the masses... or we are all just a bunch of Thomas Kincaids.

lawd knows... I am NOT trying to start yet another "art" thread. But as this has been quoted into a thread... and will be viewed by others... it required a response from me, being from such a completely different point of view.

Kindest regards,

Victrinia

This sounds like the perfect description of a demo.

This statement has less to do with demos, and more to do with what our trees are and what they will become after we pass on.

It is the task of the writer to bring that image into as clear focus as possible to help the statement communicate this message to the masses.

Here's a thought that has not been tried: Grafitti Bonsai. At least not on purpose.
