Brian,

Perhaps the problem is more due to my lack of patience - my idea of long term is five years.

Best of luck.

Fish.

Fish,

I have three sets of goals for my stock, "short term" 2-3 years, "long term" 3-10 years and lastly "Children term" 10-20 years. My children will have much better stock then I ever dreamed of.

Chris,

Your herd of trees is relatively small though, and I haven't noticed you rummaging through bins yet.

Will,

But, what are the chances of your kids giving a monkey's about Dad's silly old tree collection.

Regards,

Fish.

I have seen some great Urban Yamadori opportunities that occur whenever there is a neighborhood cleanup day. Ordinarily you can only put out what fits in your recycling bin, but a couple times a year the refuse folks will take whatever you leave out.

The weekend before these big cleanups, everyone is out pruning yard trees and hoicking hedges. The perfect time for an urban yamadori trip. Boxwoods by the dozen, most any kind of ancient hedging you could want. I found some really nice wisteria this way.

Regards,

Matt

Yes, good one Matt. I see you're finally getting to grips with the Queen's English...

My oh my, is this what Bonsai is about? I think not, get over it guys, I am sure that you are all able to pick on one another forever --- BUT do you have anything to teach the newbee, me. When you start that pick pick pick crap I tune out, but this time I put my $.02 in. It makes me wonder just how insecure you are.

Paul:

I do not understand what it is that you are talking about. There is a quote function on these postings perhaps you could give us an example that demonstrates your complaint. However, when one is seeking to learn form somone else it is generally bad form to walk into the class room and call the teacher low down and foul smelling don't you think?
