"This is the time of year to start shopping the local nurseries, end of season sales are already starting here"

Um, SHHHH. I can hear the decent 75% off maples getting picked over as I type...

Pictures 1 - 4 are of a Yew I picked up on the same trip with Vance.

Picture 5 is of a couple Junipers I purchased for Mame's.

Gooly Will,
I wish I live where you do.
I just went out to several nurseries today, looking for contest material. Everything is on sale, but it all has very little bonsai potential. Junipers were 50% off, and they even had shimpaku. One gallon for $60 then the discount. Still a rip off.
So I didn't get anything today.
