Build An Indoor Greenhouse Part I

Here are some instructions I quickly sketched on the computer for those of you who want to build an indoor greenhouse.

Thanks for this Do-it-yourself article. It's exceptionally well illustrated!

Do you think "Marine Grade" plywood for the walls is required or is painting enough? I don't have a feel for the price of Marine Grade, but I have seen other plywood delaminate on me.

Regards,

Matt

I would just use normal plywood, or even fibre board if your on a tight budget. You definitely want to stain or paint the wood to avoid any mould growing on the unit and eventually spreading in your house. Stain and heavy Urethane or an outdoor paint will stop this mould from growing and with proper ventilation in the unit it won't be a problem.

Damn I wish I had the space to make something like that in my room. Excellent illustration.....think this is one to keep in mind for the 'future'.

I have used 2 full spectrum light tubes, a Verilux and the other is a Sylvania. The only reason I didn't purchase two Verilux tubes is because I was on a tight budget. I have also purchased an automatic timer from Home Depot to trun the lights on for 12 hours each day and let me tell you the trees have really responded to this greenhouse with tons of new growth.
