Seedrack's "Brazilian Raintree"

I don't think the seeds they are selling are the actual Brazilian Raintree you (and I) are looking for. I just order two packs just to be sure but they have yet to arrive. The seeds they are selling under the common name "Brazilian Raintree" are for Samanea Saman which is similar but not the same as the tree commonly used for bonsai. I believe it has larger leaves and lacks those pesky thorns.

If what you are looking for is actually Pithecellobium tortum then good luck as I have been trying to find some of the same seeds for quite a while. I will make sure to post here if I find any. Luckily, there is a a great Bonsai Nursery here called Fuji Bonsai that propagates about a hundred cuttings every year from the owner's personal collection. They ain't cheap though!

With Rain Trees in such great abundance why would any one want to grow them from seed?
Try Durastone in Vero Beach, Florida. Jim Smith always has them and varying sizes too.
