Ebay Seller Guide......

After reading a number of posts about buying from Ebay, It seems that there are good and bad sellers... My question is who would be the good ones? Can anyone suggest which sellers are auctioning quality Starter trees or established trees? This way I can add them to my "favorites" list! thanks so much!!

Now I know Im not an admin or anything but this thread definately belongs in the "Vendor Feedback and Suggestions" section of bonsaiTalk. At least for easy reference.

Actually,

I think you would be best judging tree by tree. But I hate to do online, since you cannot really judge the tree.

I believe you can find quality tree at www.bonsaiauctions.com

Regards,
Patrick

The good sellers will be the ones who stand behind their products and what they have to say about these products in their ebay ads.You really need to rely on your own judgement online or in person when buying.Living as close as you do I would simply shop Jade Gardens in person for live trees.

I've purchased three tree's from eBay vendors and have been satisfied with all three.

CS Nursery based in Michigan sells minimally developed stock, but they carry a wide variety. If you contact them, I'm sure they have more.

little tree based out of california also has some good stuff, but again its not very advanced stock. Mostly sells in the spring.

Lominatii has some of the best stock on eBay in my opinion. He ususally sells larger more developed field grown stock. Thats it though . . . you usually are just buying a trunk. I bought a Seiju from him that's pretty nice IMO and for a decent price too. He is SLOOOOOOOOW on shipping though. But its well worth the wait!

There are a couple more out there that I'm willing to bet sell quality stuff. If you browse eBay tree's on a regular basis (like I do) you will learn very quickly who sells good stock and who sell's crap.

I, too, have ventured to ebay for some prebonsai stock. I say prebonsai, because you can find a good trunk and nebari with no branch work much cheaper than a "finished tree".

I have been disappointed by 'pelvicpunisher' - I received one tree bare root - or I should say - "without roots" - it was literally just a stump!!

However, I agree that 'lominatii' has some nice thick-trunked prebonsai for a reasonable price - shipping can take up to 2 months and you have to hound him about shipping dates

Two others that had great prebonsai's were 'lizzyizzy' and 'matsumomiji' - easy and quick transactions.

Finally, there are few guys who do 'dutch auctions' - that is more than one product in the same auction and I found that's a good way to get seedlings/whips cheaply - good forest material or trees for root grafting etc.

good luck,
peace, Steve

yup . . . lizzyizzy offers some REALLY nice stock, and they do a pretty good job of photographing the trees from numerous angles.

That trident is fantastic.

If you can recall the name I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been searching for a nice Ume stock for some time now.
