Couple of Points
Matt,
Too early after the Xmas celebrations yet to have done too much testing (hic !) - but just a couple of things. Firstly, when loggged into the Members area - the items "FOR SALE" do not stand out too well in that top bar - just the words "select catagory" - perhaps this could be split into "For Auction" "Fixed Price" etc.. and made a little bolder. Also, tried bidding on my own pot (for security reasons of course) and although the system threw a slight wobble - I expected an "error" message or "sorry - not allowed" reply - but this did not happen. Hope this info helps. Keep up the GREAT work, Ian |

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your comments. Now I want to understand them specifically: 1. RE: Bidding on your own items The form to provide the option to enter a bid on an item you posted should not even appear when you are logged in. Are you saying you were able to bid on your own item? I don't see any bid by you entered 2. On the other comment I am having a hard time figuring out what exactly what you mean. WHen you say "Select Category" are you referring to the Choose Category dropdown box? Is the TOP BAR the one that says HOME SELL MEMBERS LOGOUT HELP FAQ etc? Regards, Matt

Matt,
The bidding does work as you describe, with no "bid box" appearing for your own item. The system just freezes on that request - and then allows you to go on to something else - so guess that security is fine. I just expected a pop up saying "YOU CAN'T DO THAT" ! With regard to the header, I just think its needs the title "FOR AUCTION" either on the left hand side "Categories" menu - or the header panel next to the date. Here the two selection fields "Search" and "Category" have room to move over to the right. To me the members page is very clear on "To Bid" - "To Sell" etc... but not when looking for what actually is "FOR SALE". Perhaps I've been doing too much Web design work of late and have got my head buried ! Best wishes, Ian |

Matt,
Firstly, congratulations on the big birthday. Life begins at 40 so they say - so can you cram any more into your hectic life ? I got there 4 years ago - and cant say life did change much (sorry )Hope you have a good one. Are you having a big party ?? Back to the Auction site now: When we get an e-mail about an item on our watch list - it actually tells us what the item is. However, when we are "outbid" it does not and we have to link into the site to see which item it is. Can this be ammended with the item and the current bid, since in practice, if we have several bids ongoing, we may decide not to bid higher on that particular item anyway. As long as the link is still there in the same e-mail and we do wish to bid - then off we go to the site. Just a litle tweek I hope. Regards, Ian. |
