bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

Auction...nothing there to buy

Hello

I am new here. I have checked the auction site and some of the posts here.

There is nothing to buy except a book.
I like the auction idea, you need to have some listings.

Thanks

well it's a double edged sword, people are afraid that not enough traffic goes through the auction part of the site so they don't put anything up and without anything up, no one looks

The auctions actually get a great amount of exposure - For example, this recent stone had 184 unique views in the one week it was active. http://www.bonsaiauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=684

If sellers set a reserve or a minimum price, there is no reason to be "afraid" of anything. There have been 684 listings and 164 sales, which is approximately a 25% sale rate.

I really don't think we can blame the buyers; it's pretty much up to the sellers to take advantage of the opportunity.

Regards,

Matt

I've had great luck selling, and hope to put up more soon. This seems like a good time for a few potters to post some of their wares! (hint, hint) We had so many to choose from, and then nothing. Books, too.... Personally, I'm less interested in buying trees than in buying supplies and especially pots.

Thank you all for the input.
I will be checking the auction as much as possible.
I would rather purchase here than say E-bay.

Cheers

Randy
